Terry Tsang
Emerging choreographer and independent dancer in Hong Kong, and nominee of Outstanding Performing Male Dancer in the Hong Kong Dance Awards 2019.
Tsang studied in The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance, and was a full-time dancer in the City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) during 2013 – 2019. He has toured with CCDC to Norway, Italy, Turkey, Israel, Australia, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Besides overseas touring, Tsang was active in creating works locally, and had presented his works in main dance festivals in Mainland China with scholarship supports twice.
Tsang started to work independently in 2019. His work Mo Ngaan Tai was premiered and presented by the Cultural Presentations Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Later the piece was re-staged at Hong Kong’s City Contemporary Dance Festival and H.D.X. International Festival, and also got festival invitations from Italy and Taiwan.
In recent years, Tsang specialises in dance photography with his establishment of Labora-Terry Arts, intensifying his investigation on dance creation and human body, while his camera capture influenced by visuals of dance, and his choreographic creations inspired by camera captures.
